Who Are We?

The Pacific Northwest Region, lovingly known as the Pinwheel Region, is one of the 15 different regions in USY, USCJ’s Youth Movement. The region was founded in 1955 and has been educating, entertaining, inspiring, and caring for USYers across America and Canada ever since. Pinwheel is most well known for our Ruach (spirit) and our sense of belonging/family. Our region (the largest geographically) extends throughout the Pacific Northwest of North America.

What Do
We Do?

Every year, the Pinwheel region hosts, plans and runs 2 different conventions: Fall Kinnus, and Regional Convention. Each convention has a unique theme and includes a Social Action/Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) project or event, as well as a program involving Israel learning. The purpose of our conventions is to bring Jewish teenagers in the region together for a weekend of fun, Judaism, life-long friends, and even a little bit of learning. Pinwheel also offers a convention for Grades 6-8, Kadima Kinnus, which offers future Pinwheelers the opportunity to participate in a USY like weekend.
